Hi there! I am 21 weeks pregnant with my second and have had a stuffy nose, cold, cough, sneezes etc for what seems like an eternity. I have also been having nose bleeds so watch out for them, very sexy lol. I asked my midwife if there was anything i could do and she said that yes the stuffy nose and nose bleeds are common in pregnancy (with or without a cold). As for the sneezing and coughing that is probably to do with the fact it is winter. As pregnant women we tend to catch the slightest cold as our immune system is down. oh and i am afraid there isn't a lot we can do apart from grin and bear it. Good luck with the pregnancy i hope i helped x

You most likely have rhinitis of pregnancy (inflammation of the nose) due to hormonal changes from pregnancy. I'm surprised your consultant/midwife/OB-GYN didn't identify it, it's supposed to be quite common. I had it during my first pregnancy and have it again with my current pregnancy - a continually runny nose and congestion without any other symptoms. There is nothing you can really do that I am aware of other than to use saline to open your nasal passages or a humidifier if you live in a dry area.
What I found amazing after all those drippy nose months was that it immediately disappeared as soon as I had my first baby! Best of luck and hope you can find a comfortable position to sleep in.

I've had it the whole time I've been pregnant and it's normal. There's not much you can do just blow your nose all the time. There are certain medicines you can take but you would have to talk to your doctor about those.

It's nothing to worry about, but you can't do much about it either. Don't blow your nose to hard you could cause a small nose bleeed, it is because of the increased blood flow in your body.

Yes, mine stayed plugged up. Try popping a couple Altoids in your mouth. That usually works. All of the hormone fluctuations and fluid retention causes it.

mine is like that too- it was like that my whole pregnancy & Im due in 2 weeks.
it has something to do with your sinuses and mucus membranes.
you should talk to your doctor & see if he can give you anything for it.
