It is brand new and has an odor to it that I would like to get rid of. I have tried dryer sheets and fabric refresher (febreeze).

By "feather bed" do you mean a feather type blanket? Is it new and unused? Did you get it a a repitable place, and you know the feathers are clean? I have feather pillows that began to smell. I got them drycleaned. Didn't work. Put them in the dryer on air fluff. Didn't work. Finally I hand washed them in the washer with soap and a little bleach, put them on spin to get the water out. Filled the washer again, hand rinsed.,spin. Then I put them out side to dry in the sun, turning them frequently, take them in every night, so the dew wouldn't get them wetter. It took 3 days to dry! I've had them over 10 years now with no problems.

You may want to try and wash the slip cover, other than that it can only be "hung" to air out on a clothes line downstairs or something to that sense. You can also spray some white vinegar on the cover and as it dries it pulls odor out as well. And the vinegar smell will dissappear too.
Mine don't have odors to them...so I have never had to deal with the issue. The only other route is the drycleaners.

Gosh, I don't know if you can get rid of it if you've tried all that. I don't know if the laundry can wash feathers for you or not. I'd try hanging it out on the deck rail or line on a sunny, not too windy day and see if that helps. Good luck. That's a disappointment. Maybe you should contact the company that sold it to you and ask them or just send it back.

I have always loved the smell of sheets dried outside. It always smelled wonderful when I made the bed- the whole room smelt great.

I don't know the mechanism why outside dried sheets always smelled so good- but if you tried the conventional, you have give this a shot. (as long as it's secure, and no one will take off with it)

I have them and have never experienced this....i got all mine from The Company Store....you might ask them on line why this odor???? One thing you might try is to leave it out in the sun every day turning it over once a day....bring it in at night as you certainly don't want dampness.

If its brand new I would call customer care and tell them to send you something else.

Not sure if they have hypo allergetic feather beds..

mold is undesirable for you and that i might want to imagine worse for you at the same time as your napping. i understand it changed into intense priced yet i might want to throw it out and get yet another likely man made one not feathers as they somewhat carry on tight to mold spores

You must overpower it with your own smell.
