Im in my early 50's.I have been checked out throughly but a gp and also and ent vascular specialist.and have a friend that is a veteran nurse head nurse for 30 years at a local hospital. All say that im in excellent shape,Pressure is good ,strong heart, clear lungs, nothing that would indicate the presence of a blockage at all. However the reason I orginally went to them is that I hear clearly what seems to be my heartbeat in my ears..Like my heart is in my head in reality .The ent vascular doctor said that its benign symptom. There was no reason for concern.I lost about 40 pounds in about 5 months. My wife did too.We stopped eating out.Anyway the doctor says(Both) by the way that its loss of padding causing hearing of the heartbeat.I have recently started reading about carotid artery disease.I do have random symptoms of this but not steady ,but have been told that anxiety causes the same.I will list the symptoms below and please read the rest before answering..Thanks

I have every once in awhile blurriness in one eye or the other,I get a feeling of stiffness in my right arm when outside if I get cold just a weird feeling..I get dizziness sometimes very little mostly when I had the flu and sometimes my arms or legs feel weird but nothing really concrete. I have had numbness in my right arm but when using the computer mouse and propped up for hours on my back.I also get kind of weak in the afternoons but attribute most of all of this to anxiety. The doctors also said that I had post traumatic stress and it could produce the sound in my head. For the most part I feel ok,but there are times when something just doesn't feel right.I have noticed a slight increase in resting pulse from 72 to 80 most of the time and then at night 72 to 76 but most of the time 80..It just been recently I started having this increase then again I have read this is normal too.I get many strange feelings in my body sensations of like muscle spasms in the chest area and legs..

But most everything I experience could be normal aging symptoms or anxiety related.Does cad have continuous symptoms that would really make you aware that something was wrong or do they come sporatic and go.?I haven't really experienced what they call a tia..But do worry that they could have over looked something but two doctors especially a vascular specialist? Are these all normal sensations and Im paranoid and anxious about hearing my heartbeat or could there be anything to them maybe cad?I have a friend that comes by with her husband the 30 year nurse that swears that there is nothing what so ever wrong..She says she would bet her career on it..But still i cant help wonder whats going on.I am not proned to worry nor hypocondria ..Please read what i have written and advise.I appreciate it in advance .Just give me your opinion ..worrying to much or something possible.I thank you for your efforts..

I'm about the same age and you and get similar symptoms, but I don't let them rule my life. It is a normal part of the aging process to hear your heartbeat in your ears, to get twinges and aches. You can help yourself by making sure you are eating a healthy diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, make sure you are getting enough calcium and potassium in your diet, both help with muscle health, including heart rythm.

Get yourself busy with a hobby or volunteer work so that you don't have time to worry about being in your 50's. Heck for me, I started a new life at 50 by celebrating completion of treatment for cancer.

Where you have been to the doctor and they say everything checked out fine and your still concerned go to your local health food store and ask them what natural herbal pill you can take or other Vitamins you can add to still prevent heart problems . Maybe ask you doctor if it is ok to take one Bayer a day to . Although I saw on discovery health that aspirin really doesn't prevent or help prevent heart attacks . If you have burning in your ears maybe go to a ear nose and throat Doctor to see if it could be something else . I know I have burning in my ears sometimes that feels like heartburn but it is due to me having severe asthma and i get infections easily in my body . One thing you can do that won't hurt you either way is get some garlic oil and some Cotton balls . But a couple drops of the oil in the ear that is bothering you then put the Cotton ball in . Go lay down on the opposite side so the oil don't drain out into the ball . I would let that stand in there for about an hour . Do this for three days and see if the burning don't go away . Good luck . Oohhh Pomegranate juice is excellent for the heart and you can now get them in pills to take at your walmart in the dietary section but you can also get it at you r local health food store too . Go there first to see if they have any more suggestions for you . Hmmm I just read your additional information . Have you been checked to make sure your not having any mini strokes . They usually do a cat scan f the head . The stiffness in your arms might be simple arthritis too and just comes at the times of the other symptoms throughing you off .
