3.Yas Pal
4.Satchidanand Vatsyana
5Nirmal Verma
6Amrita Pritam
7.Dharmvir Bharati

9.Jagdish Chandra Mathur
10.Phanishwar Nath Renu
They may not be necessarily in order of merit in which they are listed. First to four are classical and the rest modern.

Please clear whether you are asking about the Hindu literature (pertaining to religion) or Hindi literature (pertaining the language). Best Novelist in Hindi has been Munshi Prem Chand. His inital works are in Urdu but they also have been translated. Best work which is at par with any world class classic is "GODAN"
