I believe it's an overdue age when humanity could live in harmony.

I think when people stop thinking they are superior to other people is when we can live in harmony and with no disrespect towards each other. I don't think this will ever happen. I have low expectations for the majority of the human race.

Citiizens of the USA have not had to suffer or sacrifice for many generations. Many have expereinced significant gratification in all aspects of life. This many times results in expectations that everyone should be serving their needs, getting out of their way, etc.

Then there are the "have nots" that are resentful and jealous.

Also, everyone shops at walmart with automatic doors so you dont have to worry about getting slammed in the face with a door. We used to hold doors open for one another.

We now have cell phones that make it almost impossible to meet strangers around town. Its tough to talk to somebody new because they're either already on the cell phone or about to get a call just as soon as you speak to them.

I still try to slow down and let other cars out on busy streets and sometimes somebody else will let me out. I just laugh at those behind me honking their horns and being impatient.

The laws of economics are forcing a merging of the world economies. This means that their is a natural pull to lower our standard of living and boost standards in other countries. It is our own hard work and competence that resists this convergence. I'm almost positive that the sacrifice is coming soon as many of our policies cut into the few remaining advantages we have going for us (for example, taxing carbon dioxide). We all want the world to be better but expect that its somebody elses fault and they must change their evil ways. I see a lot of people that want corporations to assume the burden of lowering carbon dioxide in the air. however, we are all "guilty" of emitting carbon dioxide with every breath.

This is a rambling diversion away from your original question but its symptomatic of the same issue. Very few of us wants to or even knows how to make a sacrifice (large or small) for the sake of others.

Eventually, we will have to truly become united and work together beyond all of us putting a "united we stand" sticker on our cars. Otherwise, our standard of living will drastically decrease and the suffering and sacrifices will show up on many of our doorsteps. Until that time, expect more of the same.

Simply change the way education works in school, I happen to notice that people that treat me w/ more respect and consideration are those people that went to Catholic schools.. I believe it is because they do enforce respect and morals as part of their education in that kind of schools... If we want to start to change the ways people behave, we must do it w/ the still young, so that when they grow up, they will pass on their good manners and morals to their children...

The Ten Commandments or at the absolute least the golden rule- do unto others as you'd have done to you.

Simply answered, get off the Internet and meet people face to face. It's amazing how nice people can be when they have to actually face the people who they are talking to.
