I have read it several times and of course I love it! I took President Hinckley's challenge a year ago to read it (he challenged all of the members and anyone else in April at General Conference to read it by the end of the year in 2005.) I could tell such a difference in my life - for the better - MUCH better. My husband and I were able to be sealed in the temple that year and I know it had part to do with that I was reading the BOM everyday...I love the scriptures. I love the Book of Alma.
I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon was translated from ancient plates by the prophet Joseph Smith through the power of Almighty God. I love the gospel!

Yes, I've read it and I know it to be true, and ANYONE who reads it and will honestly pray on it with a sincere heart WILL recieve that same witness.
...to the person who said that the Bible says not to add or take away....you're talking about the Book of Revelation 22:18-19, however...
"The phrases "the prophecy of this book," "the book of this prophecy,"and "this book" refer only to the book of Revelation. At the time John recorded those words, the Bible did not exist; there were only separate scrolls for each book. The first bound Bibles do not appear until the fourth century A.D. Some of the earliest Bible manuscripts do not end with the book of Revelation and, in fact, some of them don't even include that book and omit other New Testament books as well.
Moreover, similar warnings are found in earlier Bible books. For example, in Deuteronomy 4:2, we read, "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you" (see also Deuteronomy 12:12).
While mortals are forbidden to add to the divine word, the Lord himself is not bound by such restrictions. God's word is revealed through prophets, and it is through prophets that he has always added to his own word. Thus, we read that, when the king had burned the words written by Jeremiah (Jeremiah 36:1-4,
23), the Lord commanded him to restore these words (Jeremiah 36:27-28). "Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words" (Jeremiah 36:32)."
Now that we have that resolved, go read the Book. And for other non-mormons, check out the link below for more info...it will help you better understand what we believe, as it is easy to percieve that many of you are submerged in ignorance concerning us and our beliefs.

Isn't is funny that those who haven't read the Book of Mormon are the ones that condemn it.
Just to set the record straight: Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are true.

I've read parts of it, and I prayed over it, but in the end I was convinced that my own faith was the right path.
I still have a lot of respect for the LDS church, however, and I highly recommend that everybody make up their own mind about the Book of Mormon. It's just not for me.

Well, if you read the Bible, it says to not take away or add to it. The book of Mormon adds to it, therefore, a sin against the book of God is created just by the creation of the book of Mormon. So, no, I have not read it and that is why.

Its true! The Book of Mormon is true.
Those that mock it have never read it. Never prayed about it.
Tell me people, how do you know the Bible is true, did you pray about it? or just take it as truth because everyone else does?
To find out that the Bible is true, you have to read it, pray about it.
The Book of Mormon is no different.
Don't ask us, ask God.

self serving garbage. just as the bible is. do the research, the bible itself was used by kings and priests to get what they wanted, and has been redone to suit their needs many times.
the book of mormon is just more bull. people want someone else in control of their lives, or at least somebody to blame.
think about it, it god is all powerful and omnisient why are there starving children, such as that? having the power to change that an NOT doing it is no kind of God i want.
the entire idea of Jesus, if you look at it logically, is weak, an all powerful god and that's the best he can do? he doesnt wipe the jews out for messing with his son? yeah right, believe what you want, but believing it does NOT make it the truth.
