Northerners moving down south, then bad mouthing every little thing? They can live here for 20 years and still have to say something derogatory about being in the South. People, if you don't like it, LEAVE!!!!! Am I the only Southerner who believe this way?

Don't get me wrong, I really don't care where you live, but do you have to bad mouth everything??All the time??

I'm a southerner as well. A lot of people just like to try to impress in life by saying how much better things are in another place they have lived. It's human nature and it sucks. I just know it's not true or they would still be there. I've heard people have the same complaint about foreigners that move to this country then bad mouth.
Plus - not everyone is like that. Northerners seem to be more vocal on a whole than southerners. I kinda like the frankness. I always know where I stand with them while many of my southern friends will be nice to your face then talk crap when you leave. All depends on the person - - - -

I'm from the south (southern VA) and recently moved to Ohio. I think they "bad mouth" everything because things are EXTREMELY different up north. there's a big culture gap and some people don't realize it. I talk crap about northerners all the time since i've been up here, mainly because they're A LOT more rude and unaccepting than southerners.

do u really think that the situation that is the one u describe would have been the same if this other person could have stayed where they were from, most of the people that move in to my area are all that way they all hate having to loose what they have and biiiitch about what it is to have to put up with less. i live south too~about eighty miles so of Chicago where i went to high school they people coming here are all suburbanites and they buy everything just like the Mexicans do coming here to replace the locals, we want to get together with u and form a more prefect union? something is missing in a America and I'm looking for it but i think it was run over along time ago but I'll probably get a bill for it, be glad you don't get sent a bill for how bad they don't like u, they do it up here all the time we have to change to accommodate these hogs in what ever they want to roll up on us about

No, you are not the only Southerner who feels this way. I think that a lot of northerners are taught stereotypes from a young age that they keep with them (it's just a vicious cycle that will continue). Unfortunately for me and you, the ones who move down often don't have the decency to keep their thoughts to themselves. I have friends who have said things, and I have to bite my tongue to not tell them that they can always move back.
