have been experiencing all the common pregnancy symptoms for several weeks now. I have taken 3 hpt so far which came out negative. Also been to see the doctor who was completely useless (after explaining my symptoms etc all she told me was to that if I still had no period within a few months and started to get a bump I was probably pregnant).

I was taking cerazette when the symptoms started after I missed one pill, which I have now stopped to ensure no harm to the possible baby. Since coming off the pill I have not had any bleeding and its been over a week (not sure how long to wait for withdrawal bleeding if not pregnant). My boyfriend and I have also been having unprotected sex since I stopped the pill to give us the best chance of getting a positive test.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing the symptoms, how long it takes to get withdrawal bleeding if not pregnant, if hpt occasionally never show positives, and if I should take a prenancy vitamin?

Yes, both me and my boyfriend would love it to be positive.

Firstly, we weren't trying to concieve but after having talked about it due to the possibility of me already being pregnant we both agreed that we'd really like it to be positive.

Secondly, I will be changing my dr asap!

Thirdly, thanks for all the answers and good luck messages so far! :)

If you are in the process of trying to conceive you should be taking a pre-natal vitamin now (6 months before conception is even better) and drink a lot of orange juice for the extra folic acid. If you think you may be pregnant than #1 I would find a new OB-Gyn (the one you have doesn't seem to be very good based on what you said) and ask them to do a blood test. A lot of hpt's can be negative (mine didn't show positive until I was 3-4 months pregnant with both my children) but blood tests are fool proof - once you've missed a period.

Best of luck to you!!

It generally takes a few days to get a withdrawal bleed when stopping the pill, but it depends on the brand because some are designed to stay in your system longer.
Missing one pill generally wouldn't be enough to cause pregnancy.
If you are trying to conceive then you should absolutely definitely be taking a pregnancy vitamin. Please go and buy one today. It is impossible to know you are pregnant for the first few weeks, and that is a vital time for the baby's development, so you need to have the folic acid in your system from day 1.
Some women never get a positive result on a home test, but it is rare. Keep trying and testing and good luck!
