Honestly, I just wanted to see what kind of answers you would get from this question, and I was pleasantly surprised that none of you used the 'But I love him' or 'You just don't understand him' excuse for tolerating this kind of behavior.
There's nothing I can do or say to make the things that happened to all of you go away, and I honestly cannot understand what makes one person treat another person so badly, especially someone who is supposed to be that close to you.
Sweety, just put this SOB behind you, because you know you're better than that and deserve better. I'd say 'learn from your mistakes', but predators have a way of camouflaging themselves (like a wolf in sheep's clothing) until it's too late and they've already hurt you.
Just don't think all of us are like that.

Yes Kimbo, I have let this happen and many others have allowed it as well. The very best thing you can do is to garner what little strength you have left and cut him out of your life cold. He doesn't deserve you, he isn't worth losing your spirit over. You are good enough to be loved and he is a huge loser for doing this to you. Run away from this guy fast, don't let him sponge any more of the good out of you.

Misery loves company ,don't be angry at him you right be angry at yourself for allowing this to happen to you ,but i see hope for you
you admitting you let it happen, and you asking for help .
Many you feel bad about themselves ,have the tendencies to drag their partners also .get you some back bone ,and let him know no more ,or im out the door ,im not a door mat ,mentally abuse i think its much worse then physical ,get help ,talk to someone.

He isn't doing anything. You allow it to happen because you think you need some man to be complete. When you think you need a man you put up with a lot more sh*t than you do when you see a relationship as a compliment to yourself as a whole person, not half of you. Do you see the difference?
You are doing that mind trip to yourself.

One day I realized that I was actually starting to wonder if he might be right.
That was when I KNEW I had to get out.
I did.
Do it!
Yes, I was/am more angry at myself for staying as long as I did.
I took me away from him because he clearly did NOT deserve to have me.
