Worse president in history? Worse than Grant, Hoover, Nixon or Bush jr?

You're incredibly ignorant.

It's a sad commentary on the desperation of the Republican Party and their refusal to admit their errors.

Carter was a bad president and an even worse ex-president. Not only Republicans pick on him. Ask family members how bad the economy was during Carter's Admin, or how badly he messed up in Iran, etc. His work in the Middle East began under Nixon and Gerald Ford. They laid the groundwork for what he ended up finishing with Oslo.

As for now, he is an uber-liberal, i.e., out of the mainstream. He won the Nobel Peace prize because he is pretty good humanitarian, but no one should put much stock in international peace awards or the UN. The people that give that out are idealists and are generally anti-american. I mean, they gave Yasser Arafat a Peace Prize. You think a terrorist like him deserved it. He is one very big reason why the Palestinians are in such a funk psychological and economically. And...he got one!! They'll give anyone one then...How can you honestly have respect for the Nobel Peace Prize if they gave one to Arafat? And, I am no conservative or Zionist. I'm an open-minded realist..

People can now look back at 1/4 century of history and examine the actual effects of Carter's administration on the world from a hind sight vantage point. While Carter is a great person, I can't think of one thing he actually accomplished as president which had a lasting effect on America or the world other than sitting by why radical Islam first began taking root in the Middle East. The Noble Peace Prize doesn't necessarily prove leadership ability, it does however show that individual is taking steps to help better society.

Before we consider awards a validation of ones ability, lets not forget that Yassir Arafat also won a Nobel Peace Prize. The Wizzard of Oz demonstrated the emptiness of awards years ago. What exactly did Carter achieve in foreign affairs that greater than any modern president? Did he open relations with China? Did he implore Gorbachev to "tear down this wall" and end the cold war? Did he put together the greatest allied coalition in the 20th century to throw the Iraqis out of Kuwait? The evaluation of the sitting president being a separate issue, what history book are you reading? What presidential historian do you cite who calls Carter a great president? How old are you anyway?
