Just to add on about the first poster....
The separation of church and state in the manner that you're using it is a French concept. The founding Father's created the separation of Church and State to protect the Church from the whims and influences of government, not the other way around!! I'm a Canadian and the U.S. is a country to be admired precisely for the principals it was found on.

My opinion is that he is free to choose his religion in this country it is the extremist muslims you need to be concerned with, and the real answer lies within his heart, and what he believes in, but if he tries to start using the koran to create laws, THEN we have REAL issues about it !!
As long as they keep church and state separate we will be alright, when they try to force attendance in any religion in this country,,,it will no longer be just a pen and paper revolution, it will become violent, and God help us all then !

oh my goodness. What difference does it make. And who amongst the "Jews, Christians and infidels" DOESN"T lie! How many put their hands on a bible or torah everyday and lie through their teeth? Get real and further educate yourself.

Once Again, I'll type slowly. The hands on, book swearing is merely a photo-op, the actual ceremony is not a religious enterprise.

uhh wasn't leiberman sworn in on a torah? besides, the logic of your argument is completely stupid. if a non-christian person was sworn into office in the name of a holy book that he didn't even believe in, wouldn't that nullify the 'sanctity' of his oath???? you're so stupid. go to school now.
and the poster above me obviously never realized that in america the church is separated from the state. poor guy. i'm sorry for you :(

the torah is in the bible...duh
and the poor soul above me , does not realize that the constituion says nothing about separation of church and state, a little reading and bit less parroting will do you wonders.
separation of church and state has been said so much now people beleive its in there..it only states that government will not hold one religion above another...
ie: establish a state religion

Wow... Judging another religion right off the bat. I've known many TRUE muslims, and they're not ALL terrorists and liars. Open your mind and your heart before it condemns your soul.
