It is just because there more gay people coming out. There has been homosexuality in the world since the beginning of time, it's just that now, people are finally starting to accept it. Because of this, gay people feel more comfortable sharing it with others. It's sad that it has taken this long and that we still have a long way to go.

I'm more inclined to believe it's that there's more positivity out there in the world regarding gay, lesbian, bisexual & queer people. Homosexuality has been treated differently in different eras - someone cited ancient Greece, where homosexuality was widely accepted as just something men did. But because our society has a history of influence from the church (speaking in the context of sexualities only here), our perspective on homosexuality as a society hasn't really been all that positive. With laws against homosexuality punishable by law, I'm not surprised many people did not want to come out. Who would, if it would land you in jail, or an asylum, and ostracize you from society? People kept their orientation a secret, because society had such a negative reaction to it.
But things are changing now (roughly speaking, from 1950 onward), we're gaining more insight into sexual identities, and more and more support is out there for people to come out. This is why people are coming out earlier - there's a safe environment for them to do so. I don't think it's ever been a fad, it's just that society's expanding to include homosexuals and not punish people for things they can't control.

I don't think anybody is really either gay or straight. I think anybody can cross the line if they chose to. So I think it's all psychological. Something must happen to kids when they are really young that turns their tendency to prefer being part of one gender over another.
With all the pornography and sexual freedoms and liberties that our "open" society has given everyone (despite the fact that none of these "children" which they are when they choose their sexual preference) permission and approval to go ahead and drop morality, drop family values, drop God, and just liberate themselves into whatever they damn well choose to create themselves to be....and you wonder why everyone is so screwed up and unhappy...so is it a FAD? I don't know that FAD is the best word for it...is it a FAD to be anorexic? Is it a FAD to want to be sick and skinny and make sex the most important priority in your life?
Well if it's a FAD then the whole world is one big fat FAD who is going to destroy itself, because the world needs to worry about a whole lot more than sex and what gender you prefer to have it with don't you think????
I wouldn't say people are coming out, I would say they're losing it or going slightly insane.

No, homosexuality has been around since the beginning of time. The reason why more people are coming out now, is that it is becoming more accepted within society. It is not a fad.

I think it is a little of both. I think some of these "hollywood" type people think it is popular to say they are gay. Also remember that in the last days satin will e running to and fro seeking whom he may devour. The act of homosexuality is a sin. God hates SIN NOT the sinner so get that straight. The same as he hates lies but not the liar. He would that ALL people repent and accept his Son Jesus as their Savior.

I think that there are just as many gay people now as ever. Now, people do not have to hide it. People are comming out alot more. THey estimate that 10% of the population is gay, but many people are so in denile they might nto admnit it to a survey. SO, you cant ever really say.
Now, their is a fad going around it seems of high schoolers pretending to be bi. Pisses me off.

Nope - homosexuality has been around since even before humans have evolved.
In fact, the ancient Greeks and Romans practiced it regularly. Women were only used for inheritence, and boys often for fun.
Gays are having something of a sexual revolution, and are opening up more and more.

Not a fad perse.... however, its always been very normal for kids in adolescence to have homosexual feelings. What I think is different now, is that people dont teach them that this is normal and usually goes away in adulthood, but tell them "You have these feelings because you are gay/lesbian" Which makes them appear to be coming out in droves! Now of course not everyone grows out of such feelings, but many do. I however doubt they will grow out of it if they think "Its just who I am, I have to accept it"

The latter. There's nothing "cool" about risking losing all of your family and friends, not to mention verbal harassment at LEAST. Then there's the whole physical safety issue; people are still being killed over something so simple.

i think that no one is truly "gay" that they have seen it in the media and everywhere so much that they just believe it is an actual state. True it originated way back when...but they were just a bunch of perverts. They are sick..brainwashed individuals that need the "true" god in their lives.....i'm sure i will get thumbs down for this...but i don't really care...bring em on!
