These are the 4 "C's" to consider when Diamond shopping.
Carat
Cut
Clarity
Color
Don't be afraid to ask the person assiting you for a loop (jewelers magnifier glass). When looking at the diamond through the loop look for carbon. You will be able to notice it when looking because it will be black. The more black spots a diamond has, the less clearer it is as well as more color it will have, thus making the diamond less valuable. Diamnonds are prettiest when they are most colorless.
Another suggestion is to find out what type of gold she prefers. It would be a shame to buy her platinum when she loves yellow gold. Look in your local telephone book for diamond wholsalers. They typically have a much wider variety and are less expensive. My husband bought mine (entire ring) from a wholesale company and saved 2K. He even had them design mine so it is unique. Check out many other stores before deciding on something from the Mall. They ALWAYS have a horrific mark up. Good luck and Best Wishes!

They used to say the amount to spend was what you grossed in one month. But personally I think each person should spend what they feel like for it. I mean there are a lot of nice rings out there and many times jewelers have good sales on them. Don't break yourself over a ring. It's all in the thought right? Not saying to get one from a gumball machine, cause I don't think you'll get to far with the woman in your life. ;o) good luck to you.

You don't have to spend that much on one. I bought my wife a 1 3/4ct ring for like 800, it just depends on where you go. I look for the clarity, then cut of the stone, then I look at the overall design of the ring.

Yes, you can take someone who knows you both well. My hubby asked a few questions off the wall to get my ideas. (I had no idea it was for MY ring, he would ask hypothetically, and out of the blue.) Spend what you are comfortable with. She will LOVE it if you picked it. Mine is the most precious thing I own, and I have no idea what it cost.

i do not comprehend the position you stay yet I went to an section referred to as international Diamond center. they're in FL and some in GA. I chosen my ring without the diamond contained in the middle already and then I were given to be sure on what style of diamond and length that i needed placed in it. they'd a good number of ring options and also you would possibly want to pick precisely what style of diamond you wanted. i'm particular they're are a good number of places that do an identical ingredient yet it truly is the in consumer-friendly words position i comprehend of.

Price doesnt matter, its what you can afford and what you like. If you are unsure what she will like take her along to just window shop Im sure she'll point out settings and cuts she likes. If she loves you the money you spend will not matter to her as long as it doesnt put the two of you in debt

Right now for me, someone to give one to, but look for something that suits your financial needs and looks great. You can even take a female friend or relative to see what they think of possible choices..
