We've had her for about a year and she's not been able to use her wheel for a while. Her belly is big, protruding on both sides and keeping her from going in her tunnels and getting the exercise she needs. Is this just from inactivity/overeating or is she diseased? Any help would be appreciated.

When I got my hamster it was huge too but it turned out that it was pregnant (stupid pet shop had both sexes together) but after she gave birth and everything she did get fat but I suspect it was because of overfeeding, she couldn't go through her tunnel either. Instead of starving her I bought a new cage ones that are stories connected with latters.

Relax she is not diseased.
my hamster had the same problem.
It is just over eating.
all you need to do is get a bigger wheel, and bigger tunnels.
It's not that hard.

Have a terrific day!
Best I could do!
