You have a clear case of Rainmanitus, it is nothing to be concered about, may famous people such as Dustin Hoffman suffer from this and live a perfectly normal life.

Im a psychology student. I think its your Short Term Memory. If you don't pay enough attention to things, eg. the content of a film then the information will leave your memory. research shows this can happen as soon as 18 seconds after an event, but with a film its more likely to be a few minutes. To solve your problem, pay more attention and revisit the content of the film in your mind, and information will be transferred to your Long Term Memory, lasting forever

Well I have the same problem only in days not hours. And I can't say the same as you about remembering phone numbers or web sites. But I am 65.
I did not have the same problem when your age. However I have found that it has to do with how important it is to you as to what you remember. In watching a film you kind of take yourself out if your problems/life for just a little bit. But its not important that you remember it so you don't.

The severity of memory loss about other things and how much it disturbs you is the important thing. I really could care less if I have forgot a movie except when I try to watch it again. If it has been awhile...for me....it is like watching it for the first time until something sparks a memory and then I know I have seen it. Sometimes the credits will do it.
Try this. Watch a movie and concentrate on just remembering a few things that seem to be important in the movie. Try to connect it to something that helps you remember.
Then...if you can....in the next day or two try to recall some of those things. If you have to write it down do so. Keep working on this and see if your memory improves.
One other thing. There are some vitamin deficiencies that can have an effect on this. Ask your doctor about this and see if they have any suggestions.
Only worry about this if you begin forgetting things you have known well for a long time. This would require looking into.

Don't worry, I have the same thing happening to me. It's because I am not really interested in the picture that is shown. It is just unsolicited moving colours not saying anything so my mind turns off and go to my own thoughts.
. But, when I looked at a GOOD film to my interest I remember small details years later, and I am older than you are. Smile

your brain might just work differently, and remember specifics, and not general things. my brother is the exact same way. he can remember lyrics to a song after listening to it only once. some peoples minds just work different ways, im sure there isnt anything seriously wrong. however, if you start forgetting more and more stuff, i would get it checked out.

i am exactly the same. i have a really good memory generally but after ive watched a film all i can remember is if i liked it or not! i think its because i dont need that information so i dont store it, my brain doesnt make the effort. :-)

i doubt its old age, but it is probably that u dont pay as much attention to a movie as you would numbers. attention span plays a big part, u dont sit and take on board everything said in a movie, its happening and u just watch taking it in sub-conciously and therefore it doesnt stick!

You should be fine. In fact, better than fine!!!!
I would LOVE to forget movies that quick. I could buy one movie and watch it over and over again and it would be like watching it for the first time! I'd never be bored watching movies or tv again! Think of all the money I'd save.
