Anyone out there conceived at 40?

I'd like to hear your stories. I'm now trying, just turned 40.

I turned 40 in August and I got pregnant in November. It was planned and the baby is due in August right around my 41st birthday. I probably should be more nervous, but I have a terrific OB that does multiple blood test as soon as I find out I'm pregnant. She also put me on a progesterone supplement because at our "advanced maternal age" we don't produce as much. I take my prenatals and did for months before conceiving. My Grandma had my Mom at 41, it was a total surprise to my grandparents considering they already had 4 childeren all grown up! The doctor wanted my grandma to have abortion, but back then that was very uncommon and my grandma was really exicted about having another baby in the house, in all reality am glad that they didnt or I would not be here today. So it is very possible.

yeah, my grandmother had her last child at the age of 41, but she had previously had 9 children before the final child making them 10 altogether. In my family, the females tend to last long on their menstruals. I had a great aunt who was 60 and still had cycles. I'm only in my teens so i know i have a long way to go.

my mothers best Friend just had a baby and shes 45. theres just a higher risk for everything else. not to scare you but she developed the diabetes because of her age. other wise her pregnancy was good. but it can still happen. just the older you get the harder it is. and This baby was an oops baby because she already has 2 other kids that are 13-16
