I recently purchased an additional 1024mb of RAM for my laptop. According to the Toshiba website, my laptop uses PC-2700 memory so that is what I ordered. Upon receiving my memory in the mail I noticed the receipt says "Free upgrade to PC-3200". If the memory would have worked without any problems I would have just left it, but it didn't. When I put the memory in, my computer will freeze or go to the blue screen (physical memory dump). I noticed that when I move the screen or tap on the computer is when it freezes up. I have no idea why that is related to the memory but when I take it out I can move the screen around all I want without any lockups or blue screens. Is there a driver I need for this? What is the problem? Is it because they sent me 3200? Can someone help me out?

This is exactly the one I bought.

If it was a desktop then I'd say YES it will work ... but lappy's are a whole different ballgame ... ring your vendor and see if they have the 2700 in stock and tell them that the 3200 doesn't work ... you either want a complete refund or the correct RAM

if the manufactures quote 2700 then that means 2700, you have already found out that it don't work, you should have returned it right away the free upgrade is not what you want, and by putting it in the computer you could have blown it, (ram) & (video chipset)

now for the computer,, you go into the bios and set the system to the manufactures fail safe settings then reboot the system with the old ram in nothing else and hope for the best that it will return to the basic settings

It should work but it there is a small chance that it is not compatible. There is also a small chance that the memory was defective. Try to return it.
