If homosexuality is a sin then shouldn't religion also be a sin?

I don't think what you say is necessarily true.
I myself have a lot of gay friends, indeed one of my two sisters is a lesbian and I am very much in support of gay rights.
I also have studied many world religions in great depth and many are against homosexuality for reasons that were, at least in the past, valid.
Let me explain. Say we take Islam as an example (equally I could have chosen Judaism or Christianity) and say it is 700AD. If a religion is to remain viable it needs followers, to get followers there are two sources - converts and children of believers. If early religions did not discourage homosexuality then there would be fewer children being born into the faith and the religion would have been in danger of dying out.
Having made this point I recognise that in this day and age most of the various religious reasons against homosexuality are not as valid as a few hundred years ago.

Personally I find nothing wrong at all with homosexuals and sexual orientation does not alter how I view somebody within my religion or otherwise. I like to think "judge not lest ye be judged" on this matter. If God is against homosexuality then He can tell you when you die, if He does not mind (which I think is the case) then who cares?

To quote from a song I enjoy:
"So, what difference does it make ?
Oh, what difference does it make ?
Oh, it makes none
But now you have gone
And your prejudice won't keep you warm tonight." - Morrissey.

Have a great day.

Homophobic people are of course uneducated about homosexuality. The majority of people don't have a problem with it. The people who have strong feelings about it are normally repressing some bisexual or homosexual feelings themselves.

In regards to homosexuality being a sin, then why is it naturally occuring within animals of other species. Surely, this "god" made these animals like that as well. As an atheist I don't believe in "god", religion or sins. The bible is a poorly written, contradictory, hateful book that should never have been allowed to spread such bigotted, evil fiction.

Yes. They are uneducated because they are afraid. Possibly, afraid of the truth within themselves that they may be gay. Your second question: Why should religion be a sin just because homosexuality is a sin? The bible sites that homosexuality is against the beliefs. Religion is something you practice. just because one is a homo doesn't mean that they cannot practice religion or believe in it.

Some are uneducated. Some REFUSE to be educated; will not listen to reason essentially; will refuse to believe anything that goes against what they already believe. And some have been miseducated. There's some crossover, but...yeah. (Also, almost all major religions agree that religion IS a sin....if it's the "wrong" religion. :P)

Homophonia is about ignorance and knee jerk reactions to homosexuality. My opinion of this is, that some homophobes are so adamant in their beliefs that they are not interested in rational discussion, as they feel everyone who disagrees with them is in the wrong. Therefore uneducated isn't quite the right definition, as some of them have no wish to be educated!

people are always afraid of what they dont understand! I dont think religion is a sin in the grand scheme of things... everyone needs a faith... even if the faith is not a religion. I go through life with love thats my faith. all religions and faith are guidelines by which a culture live it is only the extremists who exclude others not everyone has these opinions. There is nothing wrong with loving another woman in my mind it is normal, I am not hurting anyone.

Homosexuality isn't a sin. Why would God create gay people and then punish them for it?!

I'm not homophobic, I just... don't like having to see it shoved in my face (pardon the pun) on just about every TV show and Drama shown these days thats all. Everything seems to be 'gay-obsessed' these days.

No offence.
