The best issue for you to decide is one that you are interested into yourself. If you are someone who is into fashion, than dress code would be something to choose.
If you are someone who is against smoking in public places, against gay marriages, the list can go on.
Even if you're not against the above mentioned ideas, they are still an issue that is rather quite controversial.
But you need to choose one that you are personally interested in to learning more about, or already know a great deal about.

50 years of research have shown than infants and toddlers are harmed by more than 10 hours a week of separation from their mothers, even if daddy, grandma, or mary poppins provides the substitute care. This is because humans are primates and our children evolved to need the same type of mothering other primates get - years of nursing and years of being held and years of being with mom with no separations.
The research on day care has been overwhelming clear that humans are damaged intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally by early separation from mom. Western culture, however, with the exception of the scandanavian countries, is pushing the idea that children never really need a mother. The results have been disasterous, but the media and academia employees many working moms with an investment in hiding the truth about day care.
So, you could frame it that the govt shouldn't require women on welfare to work, but should pay them to be home with their children. Or, that the govt should pay social security to stay home moms, or give all moms a stipend for staying home or that, at a minimum, hospitals should be required to tell women how very damaging separation from mommy is.
Or, you could argue that formula should be illegal, except by prescription, since its use lowers the iq by a whopping 10 points, and increases the risk of cancer for mom and baby, and increases the risk of diabetes and allergies for the baby. And because the company that makes formula makes insulin.

The young adult generation is engaging in hedonism and this is what usually happens before empires collapse and lose their power (America). Hedonism is the result of moral decadence and the declining authority of moral absolutism (Christianity). When young generations have no morals, they have no leadership. When they have no leadership, they have no strength. When they have no strength, they breed weakness. When they breed weakness, then they become dominated by power (politics, rhetoric, war, ideals, consumerism, etc.). Take a look around you; take a look on the television. Nothing is sacred anymore. Why do YOU think that is? Do you believe that it has to do with this hedonism where sexuality is completely superficial? I know that it does...
