Go for it baby! Good for you! I'm 53, and I think it's great that you want to do it. It will make you feel so good, to see that the old brain still works......I quit High school at the end of eleventh grade. I took the GED 3 years later, and when I scored in the top 5% in the country, I felt great. Ten years later, I went to college for a year, it was so good for my self esteem, to see that my brain still had it. At 35 yrs. old, I went to dental assistant 1 year course, once again, it felt great! DO IT for yourself! (now, I have to admit, that I would probably really need to buy a GED study book, and refresh all the Algebra etc. in my mind, now at this age), BUT GO FOR IT !

Finish your GED. No one should ever feel old when learning new things and trying to finish school. I'm currently in College and I have great respect when I meet people who are in there 50's, 60's,70's and going to school. Your never too old. I'm proud of you.

No way! You are never too old to learn new things! Plus, 58 is young, girl! You should even go to college afterwards. You can probably get a scholarship for college classes. Universities usually reward ppl for deciding to go back to school. You do whatever you want and enjoy your life!

Honey, you are never too old to better your life and do something that will make you feel better about yourself!
My grandmother went for her GED around your age, or maybe even older, so age doesn't matter, it's the will that matters!
If I were you, I'd be very proud of myself for doing something so great!

I'm in school right now and half of my class is over the age of 35. Before I got into nursing school and while I was taking pre-requisites there were people in their mid to late 60's. Good luck!

You are never too old to go back to school. You could even go to college after you get your GED. I know several older people who went back to school and got their teaching certificate and got paid to be a certified sub. Work when you want to.

No not at all, there are to many uneducated adults out there in the world when the information is so readily available. I commend you for going back. It takes a strong will to do something like that. Congrats.
