Create a Government Accountability Office (GAO).

Oh wait, there already is one.

Seriously, we the citizens need to do more of what we did last November - vote the corrupt politicians right out of office where they belong.

The power in a Democracy rests with the people, and especially when the politicians can't behave ethically, we have to make sure not to vote them in the next election.

Vote for a different party other then the two!! Start paying close attention to what is going on in the government! Get rid of the perks! Such as no more senators or congress getting free rides on private corporate jets! Limit the amount of paiges these people have no need for an en tired entourage. Stop the bottomless expense accounts! All Americans should contribute 2 dollars at tax time to help pay for the campaigning. Monies to be divided amongst the candidates. This way no one party is funding the election! It's funding by the people who are putting them in office. This way the smart candidates would focus only on the issues not on the private lives of the candidates. NO private funding allowed for any campaigning not even the person running!
This might not end corruption however it will curt tail it to say the least!!

Elect a complete new slate of Polititians, local, state and federal. It would take them some time to get hooked up with the wheeler dealers, so for a year or so we might have a reasonably honest governement. After that - back to normal.

two things...

A. people have to care about what their Representatives are doing... if people care, and people write letters, e-mails, talk to their congressmen... and show they are keeping up and watching him... that would do a lot...

right now, it seems like no one really cares enough to pay attention to what they are really doing... and the represenatives know it... and they act like it...

b. greater penalties for corrupt officials... it's a position of great responsibility and an abuse of great responsibility should be greatly punished... I'm not talking about killing them... but putting them in maximum security, in with the killers and molesters, for a few years, could be quite a deterrent...

That is like asking how can you take the salt out of the ocean.
Not only is impossible, but if it were done the body of water would no longer be an ocean

It is the opinion of all of us liberal Democrats that the path to a corruption free government resides within a man's anus. You see, us Democrats are all gay. If everyone was gay, everything would be perfect. Oh and lets not forget the most insidious corruption yet, the corruption of a woman's body by that most evil of parasites, the human baby. If we murder more babies, corruption can be defeated.

You can buy that little country that is for sale and be the only politician in the country, even then I would have my doubts though.
