To yeckle means to escape from answering a question. It is similar to circumlocution (trying not to answer a question) but the question is never answered. The person who is asked the question ends up not answering it by starting another subject.

I believe there were cartoon crows named Heckle and Yeckle. Maybe in Dumbo?
