It means he should go see his doctor... seriously!
It could be breast cancer. Very rare in men but we do have chest y'know? On the human animal the chest holds the breast of male and female. Check it out for the safety of your health. Then again it could be a benign lump and that is all.

well if your under 18 its perfectly normal. I had (have) this probelk mnow. There is a small lump on my left siude under the nipple. and it used to be big and hurt at times. But now it got smaller. I went to see my doctor and he told me that it would go away eventually that it's just breast tissue. and common for men to have them.

It could be either a lipase (fatty tumor) which are common because of our modern diets, like fried foods and too many snack foods containing hydrogenated oils... Or.... It could be cancer, so get it checked.
