I mean, most successful people had to put themselves out there at one point in time...maybe took a risk or did something crazy and got criticized?

If you do not try, you will never know.

Anything we do in life requires taking risks. I don't know how many times I've heard that doing will cause cancer. I had a lot of people tell me that I was foolish to get a motorcycle because I was putting my life in danger. I would often respond that you risk your life if you drive a car too. I'll admit, there is a higher chance of getting into an accident on a motorcycle than in a car and the outcome can be worse, but we must realize that everything in life has a risk of some sort. Our job is to consider the possible outcomes and decide if the benefits are worth the risk.

Sitting on the couch watching TV could result in the radiation affecting us adversely. Taking a walk outside we risk getting run over by a car, being bit by a dog or getting skin cancer from the sun. These risks are unavoidable but most people are willing to accept them in order to watch TV or to enjoy the outdoors. That is exactly how I feel about riding a motorcycle: the fun is worth the risk. When I have a family I may not feel the same way because I'll be risking the well-being of my family but I will make a new decision when that time comes.

We should be more aware of the risks we take and realize that no matter what we do we will be taking risks. Investing in a Roth IRA we risk losing all our money due to a stock market crash. Storing all our money under the mattress may result in it being stolen. The list goes on and on, and being aware of the risks we're taking will help us choose appropriate activities for ourselves.

Sometimes there are unforeseen risks, which have results we didn't even consider when we chose an activity. Bad things happen to good people and we have to deal with them as best we can and move on. Of course it's much easier said than done. I have the utmost respect for those who have gone through extremely trying circumstances and come out of them better for the experience. They are an inspiration to me and I hope that when I have to go through trying times I can be as optimistic and positive as others I've seen.

Risks are tied to rewards of many kinds; material spiritual, experiential, etc.

Risks are also tied to fear; by definition, risks involve uncertainty and both positive to negative potential.

Ask yourself this question; Am I a "what can go wrong" person? If you are a "what can go wrong" person, you will worry a lot about things not working out, being criticized, etc. You may often engage in "analysis/paralisis" and be indecisive.

Be sensible about risks, be a smart risk taker and you will open doors you can now only think of. To do that keep in mind the following:

1) Become a "What can go right" person.

2) Visualize and believe in the potential positive outcome.

3) Take action to get that outcome.

4) Accept the outcome and move on to the next situation.

The first 2 take time, the second 2 create a loop that reinforces healthy risk taking as part of your identity.

You mention doing something crazy... if its russian roulette, by all means dont do it. If it is something you believe in, go for it even if no one else does. Living without regrets and without "what if's" feels pretty good.

I used to take risks privately because I was afraid of being criticized for trying something daring. That is, I wouldn't tell anyone what I was up to until I had succeeded so I could "prove" it was a good idea. I

gave it up because keeping things a secret was inefficient, I could get a whole lot more success by just doing it and disregarding the nay-sayers. I take lots of risks and I have way more successes than failures. If you want to be successful you have to constantly take risks.

If you think you move ahead in any part of life without taking a risk, and that means risking failure or criticism, then you are not dealing with reality. You must take risks, risks that bring your heart and mind together to make sure it's not a crazy risk.

The Wright brothers took a risk but managed to get out where now millions of humans take that same risk by going out there. You take the risk by going out there in your car. And you don't do it at one point in time so much as you do it many points in time. And each time you have no guarantee that you will make it.

Yes definitely. If I didn't take any risks I would not have my career, any of my savings or my relationship. I always took a risk as the only way to get anywhere is to step out and be bold. It's better to try and fail rather than never find out if you could have won..

You pretty much have to take risks when it comes to success in your life. Even the craziest products people have come up with, have went a bit over the top and have made a success of themselves.

No, life is better when you take risks! Life would be boring without it! =)

And don't worry what other people think of you! Tons of people may have gotten criticized, but, they know that it was a good thing to do and they did it anyway! =) (Most people don;t care what others think! Such as celebrities and evryday normal people!) And remember, if you fail you can just try and try again!

THE BEST!Advice I can give you,is that if you don't take risks you'll never enjoy life. You have to give some to receive some. You can't hav a dream, and expect it to come true, and your right about how most people got a blessing out of their hard work. They gave their life to their dream.Think about MLK he had a dream, and he ACTUALLY gave his life to it.And criticism,it will come, and all you can do is withstand, and endure it soak it up,and take it as tought love, because think about how it will be when you are successful. So THINK about my advice, and then please!Take it into consideration!LOVE to help!
