Remember that most have over $100,000 in loans when they graduate also.

Veterinarian salary differs fro region to region. US: starting is generally $39,000 - 50,000. Average, established vet salary per year: $65,000. Not very much for the hard work they do, the time and not to mention the school loans and financial aid that needs to be paid!! OUCH!

do the math, excluding surgery and shots and stuff, 8 hours a day, 30 min a visit, 50 dollars a visit,your looking at 800$ a day times 30 days in a month(well your going to work all but 8) so 22x800=17600 its seems way off but think about it.
