He has a fine opportunity here to start growing up. Don't take that away from him by bailing him out.

First off you shouldnt have loaned him money in the first place to make the move. He didnt decide just today he was going to move he knew he didnt have the money he should have saved up for it. That being said considering the circumstances if you can afford to give him more money do so but let him know he is to pay you back within 1-2 months and make it clear that it is a LOAN!

This may sound mean, but I would make him face the music. He should have had a better plan before he left town. He should have made sure he had a budget set up for this trip. This is not your fault or problem. It is his responsibility. Don't let him make you feel responsible or guilty.
Good Luck.

It sounds like this guy is an adult and it really should not be you responsibility to take care of his bad choices, What happened to the first 100 dollars? He spent that in 1 day?
Even if you choose to help him I would make him explain himself and tell you why he has made this choice if he himself is unable to take care of it.
Don't help someone just out of guilt either make sure your heart is telling you to help.

Please dont make this your problem. First your never going to see a dime of this money back. You work for your money and he is not your problem. Never feel bad about that. You didnt make him get stuck out there so far away with no money and even went as far as taken a girl out there with him. Your crazy if you send him another dime.

Tell him that you sent him all the money that you can spare. Also, tell him that this is what parents are for - he should call his or his gf for additonal funds. Besides, if he planned for a trip with no money, you'll never get any of it back.

before you go anywhere, plan how much you will really need, make sure have twice that much, in Jamaica 5 times as much,
it really depends
if you give an inch and they take 10,000 miles, take back 1/2 an inch

How old is this Good Friend? Good friends don't put there friends in this position. Tell him to grow up and act his age. Your not his local bank. You have your own responsabilities.
