Why does america support Isreal?

the taxes that americans pay wouldnt you like that to go to other stuff other than isreal isreal is not america or a part of america why do they fund it to kill innocent palestinians who have not harmed america especially the palestinians are women and children why would you give money to someone who are killing kids im a proud american but is that right

We support Israel because Israel is 1 of our 2 best friends in the world, our only friend in that part of the world & a fellow democracy. Israel isn't killing innocent Palestinians unless they choose to be human shields.

Well basically anti-semitism and Europe and the USA at teh end of WW2 meant they were more than happy to dump them out in the desert, and no one expected teh Jews to survive, and the minute Isreal declared itself a state, they were attacked, and if they aren't being attacked daily by terrorists tehy are getting attacked by foreign countries. Isreal has not exactly been a US ally, more of a liability, and after they sank our surveillance ship it's a wonder we had anything more to do with them at all. We don't control their policies, they deal behind the scenes with France, Russia and China, (who also work with the opposition in the Middle East, it strengthens them if the Arab world thinks we endorse Isreal) and even employ spies within our own military. Giving people dual citizenship, so they can vote in both countries, is a pernicious if not outright violation of international law. BUT teh continued violence against Isreal justifies their police state oppression trying to crack down on terrorists, as long as both sides look at the other as sub-human this situation will never get any better. They would not need the Golan Heights if the Syrians didn't use these strategic heights to attack Isreal from everytime they go to war. When you attack someone and lose the war, the vitor takes the captured territory, that is how wars always have worked, the idea being you won't attack other nations. As I understand it, no one was "displaced" in 1948, but the group who afterwards called themselves "Palestinians" (research contemporary news accounts in newspapers and magazines from the time) picked up and moved away in protest, tehy settled in those "refugee camps" which if those neighboring countries had integrated into their own population, instead of using as a tool against Isreal, they would have re-settled those people in their own lands, not kept them eternally in humanitarian crisis all these years. Because the Isrealites were driven out of their homeland centuries ago by the same culture as there when they landed in 1948 (despite attempts to excavate or obliterate the past, there was an Isreal and even the scraps of archeology from places like the temple mount prove it). I don't support sending one penny of our tax dollars overseas, period.

I do think we are spending too much money outside the country, money we don't have, that being said. Israel is universally hated throughout the world. It's ironic that the people who suffered the holocaust are so universally loathed. I think the fact that the Arabs have vowed to annihilate the nation of Israel is a smack of arrogance. They can't stand the fact that a non-arab, non-islamic nation is living in the middle of their world. Israel is constantly being attacked by terrorism. Do they not have a right to defend themselves? And talk about innocent civilians? Do you remember all those suicide bombers blowing themselves up among civilians. Moms, kidz, those bombers don't discriminate. On the other hand the IDF avoids civilian casualties. Not so the terrorists, to them an Israeli is an Israeli, wheather a five year old kid or a soldier. You should be appalled at who these terrorists target with their carnage. I do think we are spending too much money overseas, on the other hand I do understand that Israel is in a fight for survival. It's David against Goliath and David's going to win again, you can mark my words.

taxes do not go to israel or anything else of value ... they pay the banks interest on the national debt and the federal reserve prints money backed up by nothing to loan our govt for those things ... so that being said ...israel has many enemys and a big pile of nuclear weapons it will not hesitate to use if it feels mortally threatened ... so its in ours and everyone elses best interest to make sure they stay on top over there and safe ...
