The woman isn't "communicating" with babies per se, she's listening to the nuiances of their cries. As someone who works with newborns, I believe there is a lot of merit to what she is saying. That being said, nothing is universal, and not *every single* baby will fall into the patterns that she describes.

It is interesting though!

I read once that babies have trouble with many consonants. If you watch your baby as he speaks, you will see him/her try to form words--- but dog will come out "daw" etc. They actually try to make whole sentences long before we give them credit for talking--- pay attention and fill in the consonants and you can actually hold a conversation with kids only a year old or less.

I saw that too. I was amazed. By the end of the show, I could understand what some of the babies were saying. It was pretty cool.

I saw the same thing and amazingly my baby doesn't make any of the cries she was talking about. Sorry, but just another scheme to make a few bucks.

It sounds like you got brainwashed by Oprah too. Nobody know what babies are saying, because they are not saying anything, they have no concept of communication at that point in their developement.
If you believe that lady on Oprah communicates with babies, I have a bridge to sell you that spans across the atlantic ocean, interested?

I saw that when it was on. It didn't exactly fit my baby. When he is hungry, he doesn't say "neh". He says "la-la"

He says "euh-euh', when he needs his diaper changed.
