Since two days ago, my 6 months baby started acting different, she's more quiet, does not laugh aloud, she just smile. When I talk to her she pays attention but she's very quiet. She doesn't look sick. She does not play a lot as she used to do it.. Any ideas what can be happening to her?

She might just be more aware of what's going on and therefore fascinated, and happy to watch. It's probably nothing. Heck, maybe its even a sign of genius... :)

Has she been to a doctor recently for a check up? If not, take her in. I really don't think there is a problem, babies change their behaviours and demenors all the time and she most likey is going into the next stage. If she has no symtoms other than being more quiet than she is most likely just changing her behaviour. Also, because she doesn't appear sick, she may have a cold or flu coming on and there are no other symptoms yet. She may just feel a bit malaise right now too. Keep an eye on her and if she looks lathargic (unresponsive) then take her to the emergency.

Just keep a close watch. Maybe her teeth are bothering her--- or she could be coming down with something.
Has anything in her environment changed a lot? Any people she's been used to seeing that have left?
Probably nothing to worry over--- they go through a lot of different personality stages, too, like shyness etc.
Just love her and pay attention. If you actually feel uneasy, see the doctor. NEVER ignore your instincts with a child.

PS good point about the hearing... You can easily check hearing and vision at home. Sneak up behind her and see if she responds to your quietly calling her name. Wave a toy and see if she tracks it with her eyes.

There can be a lot of things going on. Some babies are starting to be more contemplative at that age. Normally if a baby isn't crying all should be well. Mothers usually have good intuition about things, but maybe there is nothing wrong and she's just content. Just to humor yourself ask the doctor. He will be able to tell.

you might wanna take her to the doctor she might have a hearing problem ( if she's been sick lately). Or you might just need to clean the wax ou of her ears. Try talking to her and if she doesnt respond then something is definitely wrong. See a doctor and always get a 2nd opinion.

Probably nothing...I have a feeling this is your first one. You don't have anything to worry about unless they start crying and after u tried everything and they don't quit.Or if they feel extra warm...You need to enjoy your baby and remember no one even baby's might find a day they just don't feel like laughing.Good luck

Maybe she's just going through a stage. Her personality is developing. But if you think something is wrong take her to the doctor. A mother's instinct is usually correct.

Call her doctor. She may not look ill, but she still might be. Better safe than sorry.
