Why is it OK for women to wear male clothing but nor acceptable for men to wear women's clothing?

No, it just depends on other people's views. I, for example find it completely acceptable, but most would disagree. I do not, however, understand why they think this way, nor will I ever. Its just clothes! Pieces of cloth originally intended to keep you warm. It certainly does not change who you are.
Plus, most people find dresses and skirts way more comfortable than pants. The hard part would be for a man to admit it. They are too obsessed with being manly, and "macho".

It's all to do with double standards in society, Men are supposed to be dominate, not feminine.

Then again, you have the Romans, where even the men wore skirts and knee length tunics. It was actually considered a sign of weakness or old age to wrap your legs up from the cold, until the development of the riding breeches.

It would still be the same way, but fashion has changed to make sure that women and men are clearly different from one another. Modesty and morals have changed so much that society tells us that men must cover themselves properly, and women should just stay the same.

Besides, nothing looks wrong when women wear men's clothing. It covers everything. But if a man wore a dress, you certainly wouldn't want it blowing up over his head.

That and I think men probably need the small amount of support that pants can give.

i don't think of the two intercourse is extra efficient than the different, and individuals can gown the way they elect. women human beings's clothing do not make a guy much less efficient, to me individually they only seem stupid. and that i prefer to gown like a woman, yet some women human beings do not. It does not alter them in besides as human beings.

because other guys would rip on the guy who wears women clothing because hes not a "man", and I guess is a easier target to become a victim, of pranks, hazing, and brutality. So guys, unless you want to connect your face to someone's fist, don't wear girl's cloths. Unless your a male stripper....

It really isn't acceptable for either to wear the clothes of the opposite gender.
Girls end up looking like toughies, and guys end up looking like poofes. Neither is pretty. Neither is handsome. And, success will elude you, unless you're Harry Firestien or Divine.

on one alcohol intoxicated evening, the business minds behind a fashion empire decided they're gonna dress their female models in men's clothes to up to start a worldwide trend (actually its mostly profit-driven. fashion is a business anway). Viola! women took to it like fish to water and they don't care what men say/comment on their wearing men's clothes. Its the men that's more conscious about all these......just wear what's confortable, life's too short to worry about what other people say/think about you

well, it´s not really accepted for woman to wear male clothing, i mean, if a girl wears like that it´s called "tomboy" or something like that, and a man is signed like gay.

Because we haven't had a "Men's liberation" movement. Some women think that to be on an equal playing field with men, they have to become one. I think... no, I KNOW it's called penis envy. Everybody should listen to Dr. Seuss. He suggests "be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."
