Now I don't know if it's the cable companies fault but my computer's internet keeps goin down and i have to unplug it everytime it goes down and plug it back in so it works for a little while longer. I have a mac but no warrenty so i can't call them. Now I know Mac's cannot get viruses but what could be wrong. My other windows is doing the same and acting a lot slower than usual. Could this be a virus in any way or spyware or any of the above..even for a mac?

It looks like you're not getting a solid connection with the internet. This could be that your cable isn't probably connected. Or it could be that your router is going to die. What you can try to do is, reset your router and make sure you have the most up-to-date firmware for your router.

Log onto your router (196.1.0.0 or something). Then go to the firmware section and check for updates.

Then reset your router and see if that solves anything. You can always borrow a router from a friend to see if his/her router does the same thing.

If it does the same thing, it might be your service provider.

An internet connection can become slow or stop working due to a number of reasons depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gz

it is possible that the plug for internet slips down and comes loose, slowing your connection, you should put something that will keep the plug pushed in. it cannot be a virus though. If that shouldnt work, you should replace it or contact the people that provide your internet service. Good luck!
