i know that it seems weird that i put this in adolecence but no one awnsers on the other catogories plus i know the smartest people awnser questions in this subject, because usually its teenagers and up..

I really need help with word problems, i get so frustrated.. One of my question is
Steven has 3 pounds of brand 121 nuts that sell for $2.23 a pound. He also has brand 330 nuts that sell for $1.75 a pound. If he wants a mixture of nuts that sell for $1.93 a pound, how many pounds of brand 330 should he add?

but i dont just want the awnser given to me, all i want is the formula..

Isn't that cross multiplication?


It should be 1.75 over 330, and 121 over 2.23. Cross Multiply.
And you should get.
3.9025$
&& 39930 nuts.
than I guess divide it by 3
13310.
I really don't know but I think that's how you do it. I'm not sure.
I get frustrated with math too, so don't worry.
What kind of Math is that?.
