What do you do if you and your partner have completely different ideas when it comes to naming your unborn baby? Every name I have come up he hates and vise versa with the names he has picked. I think it should be a rule that when you first start dating someone that you make sure you agree on baby names before you get serious. Our baby may go unnamed :)

Note: Im just kidding about the agreeing on baby names before you get involved thing.

How far along are you? My fiance and I even talked about baby names before I ever got pregnant, and we never (and I mean NEVER) agreed on one. When we found out I was pregnant with my first one, we talked about names forever, and it was like the last few months before we ever agreed on one. Just talk about it...don't fight or argue about it....it will come to you guys.

Seriously... I have a friend who had a baby that went unnamed for 6 weeks because she and her husband could not agree on a name. I think you should put two pieces of paper in a hat, on one piece of paper write the word "first" on the second, write "middle". Then each of you draw one out simultaneously. If you draw out the piece of paper that says "first" that means you get to pick the first name and he gets to pick the middle name. Don't worry about whether the names go well together because you'll just drive yourselves nuts. Whatever you do, remember what a wonderful privilege it is to bring a new life into the world and don't let your disagreement over a name steal that joy from you! Congratulations!

You get a baby book and you and your partner can sit down and look through the book until you both find names that you agree with.

I say compromise. Use a combination of both names or use one for the first name and the other for the middle name. There's got to be something you both can come up with.
