As far having a blood test, or even when given novacaine at the dentist, I cannot STAND needles. They just terrify me. If I have to have a blood test done, I'll be thinking about it all day and freaking myself out even more, while the pain from the needle only lasts about less than 10 seconds in itself.. I know I'm not the only one with this problem, and sorry for complaining. :P I wish I was a heroin junkie, then I wouldn't have a problem with needles haha.

Seriously though, how can I overcome my fear of them? Advice?♥

My suggestions are not trying to be funny or goof on you. I had the same problem. Now I am over it. I even gave blood recently and it was nothing.
Just kind of laugh and smile as they are getting ready to take the shot. Make real bad jokes like do I get a sticker when I am done. Look up at the wall and say goofy stuff like, wow, I wonder who chose that color.

I am 22 and in the last 3 years I have had about 200 needle sticks and I still get a bit nervous and sometimes upset but I do my best to relax, look away, and take slow breathes. Make sure the person doing the sticking knows you are afraid and they will do their best to help you, take a parent or friend with you to distract you or take a stress ball to play with. Having needles aren't fun but they don't have to be a traumatic experience.

Good question - I need help with this too. I just try not to think about it at all, but can't help it sometimes. I hope the day will come in heaven or wherever I end up that there will be no more needles. :)

I used to have fear of needles too. I just took it and closed my eyes. The pain is less painful then being stung by a bee.

Think about how many lives are saved there by these medical tools.
Whatever you'll had in your mind about this object, think that nothing bad would really happen to you. The pictures in your head don't pop out to become reality.
