I'm pretty sure after he found out the truth about the WMD's he couldn't go on lying about Bush's war.Powell was the only decent man in the White House.Ya think he no longer agreed , deep down, with Bush's BS?

Yes, he is the only reason I even came close to supporting the invasion of Iraq. He is a man of integrity and honor. I doubt he could stomach the lies and deceit.

Not only that but I think that Dubya would have turned on Powell and blamed him for the problems and the reasons why we are not winning the war. Now he supposedly has this "new plan" and strategy to win. Dubya would have blamed all of the failures up to this point on Powell if he was still around.

The same reason why everyone else resigned.....They can't sleep good at night knowing they know the truth behind the war. Only a devil like Bush can go on about life like a normal person knowing our soldiers are dying over lies and cover ups.

Powell knew bush was going in for something different than what he was told. he knew when he was in the military when his punk dad was there, and what he was going for and could not achieve it, and he saw the younger bush being toyed by his dad and his dad's partner's and said i am cool, i want to leave my name in good standing with not only myself and america, but with GOD.

I agree, after bushs mythical weapons were never found, colon headed for higher ground for fear of treason, so bush focused his efforts on getting sadam, so that the attention would be deverted towards sadam and away from george w, did it work, yes it did in fact work, its his defense from impeachment, and working brilliantly, if colon knew this he may not have ran away
