On the column in newer cars i thought they called it triptronic, i'm not sure, ta anyway.

Stick shift is a manual transmission regardless of where the shifter is located. Could be on the column, the floor, or console.

Its the manual transmission. I love stick shifts. Only cars I'll drive. I think everybody should know how to drive one.

What we call a gear stick. If it's on the column it's called column change.

in Japan and most Asian countries, they have it too, I don't know about now, cuz I moved to america when I was small. It's opposite an automatic. You have to mix it somehow with the clutch to drive it. It's ideal for sports cars cuz you can control the car better, faster than an automatic (during races) and saves alot of gas per mileage ideally.

Manual Gear change like almost all UK cars - just in the US they think its for sports cars only,

It's the gear stick, but it isn't in the middle of the car like in the UK, it is on the steering wheel.
