It's okay to experiment. But be careful. If that 'skanky' icon is really not you - then you'll be sending a 'skanky' message. Your present icon is really cute, but if you want to change up - scan some of your own photos or pictures that reveal a little bit of your personality or character. I answer questions in so many categories, that I change up my icon very rarely. I've used my own personal picture in the past - and just recently went back to the icons to change up a bit. Whatever you do, you don't want to send others the wrong message. Just do you. (smile)

Who cares about those skanky icons? I think they'll get you LESS answers. Your questions may only be known to few people, or just not enough people see your question. I get few answers too, it's just the question that is asked. If you ask a question lots of people'd know, like "What is the name of this song (so and so, lyrics so and so)?" Many people would know what the name of the song is. They'd submit their answers. Other people just answer questions for free points, even if they don't know the answer. I don't do that, I see it through that the question is answered as detailed as I can give it. It don't matter what kind of icon you put up. (See my blue parrotlet?)

Honestly I think it is more about the personality that comes out in your questions/answers that the looks of a cartoon figure.

Sure. Go for it.
It's always better to have more answers instead of good ones - it shows how much people really like you. Besides, you really don't want to be taken seriously; that's so lame.

It depends on people really - some people may like it that way. For me I always look for SUBSTANCE only
