I was in the mall today, and two gay men...holding hands came out of Hollister. I didn't think anything of it except I was kinda glad that they were comfortable enough to show their affections in public. As soon as they walked out, one of the salesperson came out from inside the store and was watching them leave and laughing hysterically. I'm pretty sure I heard a few derrogatory comments, and he called over his friend who even went as far as to whip out his cell phone and takke a pic. He also thought it was hillarious. I so wanted to say something! That is so hurtful. I know what it's like to be laughed at for dating or being with someone unconventional. I just don't understand why some people are that way...
They wouldn't have cared if it was a guy and girl holding hands.
By the way if your gay...Boycott Hollister!

You know, I read the question and wanted to answer it, but saw that many people already have. I'm happy to see that we have such supportive people out there! Too bad they weren't all in the mall with you today, they could have snatched that cell phone up, smashed it on the floor and then walked away laughing...would have served the jerk right. Anyway, keep up your good work, don't let this small group of people get to you or influence the way you think in any way, I plan to do the same!

Well anyone who would run out and want to take a picture of something that common, must lead a sheltered life. I think it's ridiculous that people are that ignorant and childish. I'm a straight person, but i have gay friends and family, and although i don't think it's the life style for me i will not judge people who do. Those people are just uneducated and close minded.
But i don't think gay people should boycott hollister or anyone else for that matter, if anything you should have called the manager of the store and reported them for doing that. Don't hold it against the entire company for what their employees did, they don't know and can't fix it unless someone says something right?

Hi ''Kurious!''
Unfortunately, in this day and age people are still uneducated and ignorant. You're right! It is hurtful that some people are like that.
Some are trying to hide their true feelings about what they really think about it and then you have these other a****** that use out bursts not caring if they might hurt anyone and that really pisses me off! I'm glad that these Gentlemen were mature enough to ignore those JERKS! Did you know that the salesperson could have gotten in major trouble for that? He's very lucky!
Sorry you had to be a witness to that. It's a cruel world out there and people are just nasty and disrespectful.

Love and peace always

Because people are ignorant and discriminating and i hope that they get run over by trucks and end up deformed in wheel chairs so even more ignorant and discriminating people can point and laugh at them , lol i know that's a little harsh but it bothers me so much to see this happen to good people who don't deserve to be treated so horribly. People are just idiots and they will never change, we just need to ignore the people we come across throughout life that are not beneficial to us

Gay or lesbian has always been considered a scandal, so you can't expect that people would just accept it like is nothing. I have nothing against them yet whenever I see one, or a couple I have to turn my face. I have a friend who is a gay and he is cool with me as long as he respects me as a friend and understands that I totally disagree with that way of living. Is their live they can live however they want. I am a Christian the day I think that I am better than them I am throwing away my faith, so I will never judge them.

We live in a society that allows freedom of religion and no different than religion being the basis for every war ever fought it is responsible for many of the prejudices that we have today.....there are many religions that are based on love and others usually fundamentalists who will take scripture word for word or interpret it to mean what they want it to. The problem is there is not enough tolerance in this world. If you want to see change teach your children young that this is normal that way there is nothing to fear. Be involved in religions, community groups, activities that are accepting of diversity vs. hell fire and brimstone!

What the future looks like depends on what the parents of today decide to teach their children.......with young men like you described at the mall it looks like not a lot is going to change. Too many people fear the unknown.

When it comes to gay/lesbian/bisexual what we are judging people on is not themselves as human beings but what they do behind closed doors.......would you like to be judged by the world by what you do behind closed doors.......I think most of us would not......because it is nobody's business what goes on in our bedrooms as long as it involves consenting adults!

People discriminate against other people out of fear of what they do not know. They conjure up stories that are not true which only feeds into their ignorance, The ignorance breeds hate and contempt. As such, they begin to discriminate against others.

The also do so to boost their pathetic little egos only to make themselves seem bigger and better, but in reality, show how stupid they really are.

Because people have the right to their own opinions just like gay people do too, as long as your happy and content with your life style other peoples thoughts in our GOD MADE SOCIETY world should have no affect on your well being or be of your concern, you can not stop how god intended for things to be , if he wanted it any other way it would have been vice versa. Just like gay are gay , white people white and strait strait. Allah

Because some people just don't understand it or accept it. I think its stupid to be prejudice against someone because of who they date. It's not like you can help who you fall in love with, and even though I'm not gay, I think that they should be accepted just like the rest of the people in the world.

Take a quote off Animal Farm by George Owell....Not all human are born equal...some are dumber than others. Well I could use more words, but just substitute the word dumber with whatever negative connatation you can think off.....
