Yes, I think there should be uniforms. I went to uniformed primary and secondary schools and, while I moaned about it at times, I could see even then that they were a good idea for the following reasons:

- if everyone has to wear one, you don't have to worry about wearing the latest fashions to school (or persuading your parents to buy the latest cool clothes).

- it's cheaper for parents as they don't have to fork out cash for the latest designs to protect you from being the class reject. Even poor families can get help buying a uniform with hardship funds.

- kids don't have to get up earlier in the morning to plan what they're wearing.

- uniforms give kids a sense that they belong to that school.

- uniforms look smarter for the school rather than everyone coming along in whatever they feel like wearing. Class photos of children in uniform look more professional.

- it's easier to spot brats who are bunking off school if they're in uniform.

- most bus drivers will charge kids in uniform a child fare even if those pupils are over sixteen!

- and, last but not least, teeny weeny tots in uniform look so adorable!

People can still display individualism with uniforms as you'll find in many uniformed schools, pupils will have their own styles of wearing them. Uniforms are great but they don't have to be enforced in a manner that is too rigid.

Yeah the kids should wear a uniforms because it help them focus better. So kids shouldn't tease to poor kids if they don't wear as like as rich or middle classic kids. And also it is less problem, no signal of the gang and sometimes teen girls dress as like as sexy at school. They get the boys attention pay on them then they can't focuses on the education.

i think there should be uniforms in school because it really saves so much time trying to figure out what to wear. kids would be able to concentrate on school more rather than their outfits and appearance. uniforms also gives the students a sense of belonging.

I think uniforms help to take away a lot of the worry of high school because you don't have to stress about what you look like and can concentrate on the work you have to do. My high school got uniforms my junior year.

I prefer them because there will always be kids who can't afford the name brand, or latest "cool" outfit or accessory. These kids are often ridiculed. The uniform policy would eliminate at least that kind of bullying.

It can help alot. It saves money from needing to buy more clothes for 5 days a week. It saves time in the morning cause you dont have to pick out what you want to wear. It helps with kids who might get picked on for having "last year's" styles

Yes, I do! And I'm not just saying it because I went to Catholic schools all of my life.

1. You won't have to worry about what to wear.
2. Everyone will look neat and tidy (i.e., no saggy pants or graphic T's)
3. No competition concerning "labels" (i.e. Aeropostale, Abercrombie and the like)

Dress code ...yes, uniforms...NO
They even made my disabled child in Special Ed wear them...now he 19yrs old and he thinks he is supposed to wear only those (uniform) type clothes.
Does more harm than good.
They need to focus on education not attire.
