It depends on the Digital camera you use 'em in...... number of megapixels, file format (.jpg or RAW) + quality settings (e.g. 4MP FINE, 4MP Normal, 3:2, 2MP, 1MP, 0.3MP).

For instance, my Fuji Finepix A345 Digital camera (with 128MB xD card) currently has 2 pictures stored on it taken in 3:2 mode, with space left for another143 pictures taken in that mode, or 64 pictures if I switch to 4MP FINE mode.

As another example, a review @ http://www.steves-digicams.com for the Fuji Finepix S9000 (9MP camera) says a 128MB card will hold 28pics taken in 9MP fine mode, or 6 pictures if you set it to use RAW file format for the pictures it takes.

Depends on the size of the picture.

See chart here:

for 128, curt the 256 meg data in half.

Sorry to be so vague, but this totally depends on the format, quality, and size of the picture. You can have a JPG photo that is 20K in size (small low quality) up to about 3M for high-quality TIF. Once you understand your own characteristics, its basic math.

1000KB = 1MB
