It's a great sports town, but is somewhat depressed economically. St. Louis has a pretty serious crime problem. With so many competing interests, in a baseball-first town, I don't think the NBA would do that.

The NBA has looked into in the past, and the revenue potential wasn't there.

Small metropolitan market cities like San Antonio or Salt Lake can pull it off because they are the only gig in town.

St. Louis could get a team, but its not about the fans as much as it is about what the city and new owners are willing to do....take the NFL for example....the last expansion team was supposed to go to LA, but Houston was willing to build a new stadium and LA wasn't so guess where the team went.

I believe it has been looked at in the past, decided it wouldn't work. I'm amazed the Blues (NHL) have survived. The football Cardinals moved to Arizona (yeah thanks for giving them the Bidwell's, I'm a former resident of AZ). Baseball Cardinals are well supported. To bad the Brown's didn't make it.

Is that stranger than a hockey team in KC?? On the other hand who would see a BB team in KC. We have KU. I would go see KC vs the Blues. I just wish KC would get a big league baseball team. LOL

Yes, because they already have a new baseball team, a nascar track, and a football team. Why not a basketball team?

That's baseball and hockey country. Hoops just would not get the proper amount of support over the long haul.

St Louis is in Missouri? That just sounds freakin strange to me. Like I know about St. Louis, and I know about Missouri, but somehow seeing the two names associated with one another just freaked me out.

At one point in my life I wanted to visit St. Louis. Now that I realized that it is in Missouri, I am going to change my plans.

No basketball for you. Thanks for ruining my day.

No. It's been considered in the past and there does not appear to be much interest/potential fan base.
