I just quit football today for a very good reason. It's just not fun anymore its all serious now and the coaches yell at you more and usually when they yell at me my ears get hot and i dont feel good at all. I've been playing football since the 7th grade and i just quit today and i'm in 11th grade. I wanted to just quit but the coach had to get all mad about he's all like "after i talked to you...thats the easy way out". Man i didn't quit because it was hard i really didn't. Then the head coach tells another coach "he wants to quit" and the other coach is like "whats wrong with you?". I couldn't care less about what he says because i know nothing is wrong with me but why am i feeling bad?

The reason you are feeling bad is that the totally unacceptable behavior of your coaches (teachers) is negative.
They are putting out negative energy and it is all directed at you. Most people don't have the self-esteem or inner strength to be able to have negativity thrown at them like that and be able to bounce it off you. If you are so positive that nothing can get you down then you will be a positivity generator and everyone that has negative energy will leave because they can't stand being around you.
You have the absolute correct attitude. Don't worry about what those clowns think - be true to yourself and NEVER compromise who you are or what you believe in. You will be a very powerful person.
Good luck and find something to make you feel better! Is there a song you like? A photo that makes you smile? Do anything you can to get past what those jarheads said to you and be proud that you took a stand for yourself.
Hooray for you!

Your feeling bad because you feel that you let your coach's down. You probably admire and respect them, and it is always harder to do what you want when you know that someone else expects something different from you.
My son quit the h.s. swim team for a very good reason also. His coaches tried the same approach. But, when you know you have had enough - that's it. If the coach tries to get very aggressive with you, ask your parents to intervene and tell the coach that they withdraw their permission for you to play. That will end the problem. Good luck.

maybe you feel bad because since you've been playing football for so long, its hard to quit. Even if its something that you dont like anymore, you are so used to playing it that it has become more like an habit than a fun activity. you should try playing some other sport to make you feel better, it will show you that you can still have fun at playing other sports even if its not football. and dont listen to your coaches, if you have been wanting to quit for a long time then its your decision, not their to make.

I think maybe you are feeling bad because of the way they acted. They had no way to act like that, but that is how alot of coaches are...they take their aggression out on other people! Don't let it bring you down, you did what YOU wanted to do. That is all that matters. I'm sure there is another activity that you will take up in the future that you will enjoy better anyway. Good luck to you friend.

Your probably feeling bad because the coaches are pressuring you, if you want to quit, its your decision, and if the coaches can't stop you. Hope you feel better!

football has been a big part of ur life for so long that its hard to let it go... like breaking up with ur bf/gf when u no its the right thing to do. its takes some getting used to, but if u no its right then dont let those jerks get to u. just hold ur head high and find something u enjoy to occupy the new time.

because you feel you dissapointed your coaches, you have to make sure your doing what makes you happy and if football isnt making you happy anymore then you know that the reason you quit, go with what your gut and your heart are telling you, not what other people are telling you.

yooooooo you should go skateboarding you won't have freakin coaches yellin in your ear all the time,no rules in skateboarding and its fun learning new tricks everyday and everyone who skates has a different personalities not like those jocks who think highly of themselves and you get to be a rebel to society too and you can also be an independent skater if you like "skate and destroy".

Don't fall for their "guilt trip". You have the right idea about sports. It should be fun. I don't blame you for quitting. You deserve better than those coaches.
