my dad says im to young to have a cell phone brecause i just want one because my friends have one. should i A be responsible with my homework and books because i have a lot to do. i want a cell phone bad because my mom is always on the computer and so one cellphone you can get on the computer because if i have to research something is that a good motive.
My brother is 7 and he wants one if i get one. im 11 so should i get one and if i do will that be a bad example? or he could get that disney mobile with the allowance thing please help!?!?!?!?!?!

Well....i dont understand your reasoning. By motive do you mean what your going to tell your dad or what you really want a cell phone for. For both i'de give the same response:
You should decide what's important. I wanted a cell phone just to say i had one. It was cool. I wouldnt show it off to anyone (ok a few people) but it would be nice if i could have one. But then i thought about it and realized i wouldnt really call anyone.....so what was the point. I have one now becuase my sister and mom need to call me a lot but other than that i use it as an alarm clock (a regular digital alarm clock would be cheaper). But if you still decide you really want one, plan it out. Catch your dad or mom at a good time, like right after you've finished cleaning your room. Prepare what your going to say (make it sound really good for academics, socialness, and such) and then when they're just about to turn you down offer to do something they would normally have to do but be carefull and make sure you can and will do it. Thats how i get things done, throw in that extra thing

You are 11! If anyone is getting a cellphone, you should be getting that disney mobile thing! Really though, you are way too young to get a cell phone and you do just want one because your friends have one. An 11 year old doesn't have to do that much research or homework. When I was 11 I rarely ever did homework and still got A's, so that's a bad excuse. Ever hear of a library? Do your work there. Books are way more reliable than the internet. You can also use a computer at the library to go online to do your research.

If you have to think about it this hard its probably the wrong motive. your to young for a cell phone. When your old enough to get a job, then in my opinion that's when you are old enough to get a cell phone.

Ask for a prepaid phone with X dollars of minutes. Ask to have part of your allowance in minutes instead of cash.
As for reasons, the only good one is in case of emergencies.
