Okay. I sing. Well, Sang. I did singing lessons for two years, but still never managed to get up my confidence to sing in front of people.

My boyfriend, who is in a band, asked me to sing the chorus to a song which needs a female vocal to really give it a kick. I said no. I find it hard to sing in front of him, let alone loads of people!

People have said I am a good singer, but i don't have the confidence to believe/pursue it.

Please help, it's getting me down. =[

HOW DO I GET MORE CONFIDENT AT SINGING!?

Thanks.

Practice, practice, practice. The only way anyone will become better, overcome anxieties and fears about the stage and people - is to practice. I remember even though I was never "afraid" to be on stage, I did develop some anxieties about "forgetting the words". Even when I had committed songs to memory -I got over it by having my music stand in front of me with the words on it until I felt comfortable! Hey, it's your show and you're the "It Girl" you can do what you need to do. Close your eyes, step to the side, pick one person in the audience with a kind face to sing to - whatever you have to do - but do it. You'll never get past it and develop this confidence and also get your career moving - if you don't. Sing in front of a mirror, check your self out, head to toe - KNOW what you look like when you sing - what your facial expressions are, smile - spend time with the mirror girlfriend - you will get past it and you'll love it! Good luck.

You really just need experience. I used to feel really awkward singing in front of anyone, but now I'm fine with it. It's easier to start singing in front of your friends and people you're close to. Then you might be able to sing in front of strangers a little easier.
As for singing in front of a crowd..try not to think about the fact that everyone is listening to you. It sounds hard, but it helps me.
Plus you need to believe that you can do it. If you don't, the end result may not be as good as it could be.

nicely with the vanity difficulty.. I honestly have that difficulty too and that i take drama type. yet taking drama classification helps particularly plenty. maximum colleges modern it as an after college pastime. Have her probably first sing in the front of the kinfolk, or at a contest (e.G. Christmas, Easter, Birthday, etc) so she will be able to get used to making a song in the front of people more effective. If she feels gentle with this, to advance the target audience, in spite of the undeniable fact that nonetheless with persons she knows of. even as she will be able to regulate this, have her take section in in the front of an target audience of one hundred or so of people she doesnt comprehend, e.G. she will be able to also be an entertainer at a pageant for human beings, e.G. a wedding ceremony or so. in spite of the undeniable fact that it truly is no longer continuously hassle-free to finally end up well-known and each little thing, you rather would favor to appreciate the ideal human beings. She could perchance visit the tremendous apple or l. a. even as she feels comfortble adequate and take section in in the front of an agent, in spite of the undeniable fact that dont evaluate let down no matter if it isn't a wide agent or if she doesnt get by way of, provided that there'll in any respect cases be more effective opportunities. I desire her staggering luck :) Oh, and for the duration of and tremendous be conscious is large. I watched 'little voice' which isnt this way of helpful movie in spite of the undeniable fact that i think it does reveal that with a very good voice you'll get far and all you want is self belief :)

Well i am a model and when i first got on the runway i was terrified but the more i am at fashion shows i get less scared and gain more belive in yourself. So the only way you can feel more comfortable singing infront of people is to try it more often. Try with your family then once your comfortable with them listing let your friends hear and just talk it step by step. Goodluck to you

It sounds like you are quite a shy person. Sometimes singing in front of those we know is worse than singing in front of those we don't know.

One excellent way to overcome shyness (in most things) is to speak publicly. Why not join a club where you can learn to do this?

Ok, so it's learning to SPEAK in public, but once you overcome your shyness in this, you will most likely find that you can sing in public also.

Use the age old trick. You need to believe you're better than the crowd. Picture them in their underwear, as midgets, anything to help. Or just focus on a point at the back of the room/bar. That's always helped me.
