For yall that don't know Ed Reed was a strong safety last season and this season he swithched to Free safety. I think Dawkins is better

Ditto. Dawkins is the fiercer hitter and more athletic of the two. He is also nimble and great at covering backs and tight ends one on one. He arguably was the best in the league this year.

Reed is the ballhawk, so he gets the interception numbers. He's not the force dawkins is though.

Lastly, Sean Taylor may soon develop into the best. That guy has ridiculous size and speed and could be the combo ballhawk and hitter, a hybrid of Reed and Dawkins. Taylor brings the lumber.

Depends on what you are looking for. Reed is the more spectacular big play guy.

Dawkins is the cagey vet, especially if you run a high blizing defense like say.....Jim Johnson.

I would have to say Ed Reed .. He is held in very high regard by his peers, He is a game changer big play guy.

Ed Reed is one of the best secondary players period regardless of where he plays. There is no comparison.
