Find one of these CD's (they're both avaliable from Amazon):

"Edda: Myths from Medieval Iceland", recorded by Cologne Sequentia Ensemble for Medieval Music

"Discover Early Music", a two disc compellation of early medieval pieces put out by a label called Ned.

Well, to put a music background / music illustration you must first know what do you want to say.

I mean you can put an actuall European Dark Age music, or even a nowadays Rock music depending on what you want to say to the audience.

Some suggestion:
* If you want to show it neutral, then you can put a n actual Dark Age folk-traditional music (this one i don't know where to find);
* If you want to show the war/violence/chaos you can use a Metal Rock music (i think you can find this easyly);
* if You want to show the people struggles/rebels againts the evil government you can use a street rap music (this one also easy to find);
* if You want to show the church, try either the actual Dark age church music or Renaisance Gregorian chant (I have some of this).
* etc.

So I would need to know what do you want to show first, then i can help you with this.

Good Luck
Hope this help
Bless you

Carmina Burana -- Carl Orff seems to be popular with movie producers.

The music is actually from the middle ages, but Orff "discovered" it and transcribed it for moden orchestras.
