Yes the funeral is for those who are living so that they can pay their last respects. The dead are no longer in their body so a funeral is really for those left behind.

When the families are deeply religious, the funeral ceremonies are always held at the place of worship, regardless of how the death happened. The heads of the place of worship usually sympathize with the secondary victims of the suicides - the surviving families - and accomadate them for whatever services they want to have.

Yes churches will accept a suicide and have a funeral service. these days people are not stigmatising suicides such as burying them in isolated spots in the cemetry or burning all their belongings. the church is usually in sympathy with the family.

Yes, suicide used to be a cardinal sin but these days its not, at one time if you killed yourself you were buried outside the walls of the graveyard, these days its recognised that suicides are usually not in their right mind when they do such a thing so they are forgiven.
