Hey, what's the best acoustic guitar for beginners? I'm looking in the 100 dollar range, and what should I know about guitars before I get one?

Epiphone, guitars made by Gibson. You can get pretty much any style Gibson guitar in an epiphone version. They're inexpensive and sound great. Not as good as an actual Gibson guitar, but it will do for a beginner.

No idea about prices, sorry.Nylon stringed guitars are much more easier on the fingers (your fingers kind of get sore when you first start playing steel stringed) and good for classical, folk etc. But steel stringed are more popular and are used more generally in rock/pop/general music. They're also a bit louder than the nylon stringed ones i'd say. So it depends on what sort of music you want to play - enjoy playing!

although i love Gibson's, they cost allot to buy.i paid 200 hundred for my washburn electric acoustic guitar from musicians friend last year. it well made and sound pretty good. you get what you pay for so don't skimp. i was just looking for one to take out side or mess around with, but i knew washburn made a good guitar so stick with your bigger names even if it is cheaper so you know you are buying a halve decent product. if you look at my 360 profile, it's the red acoustic in the back. www.musiciansfriend.com
