Is it possible she does not realize she is doing it?
But if she acting like your best friend and than almost stabbing you in the back you should tell her about her actions so she can realize how she is acting. And if she does take it the wrong way and you are telling her the truth about herself than you have nothing to worry about.

Sounds like your friend is VERY succeptible to peer pressure. I would simply tell her that if she has to change like that every time she turns around, then she needs to figure out who her true friends are, and in the meantime, you'd rather not subject yourself to not knowing whether she's really your friend, or using you to avoid her own loneliness.

Well i too have been in one of these situations. I like u was timid to tell her off but u just have to or else u'll be miserable being "fake" friends. Even if she does go off and cry for attention, u did wat u had to and if she doesnt learn her lesson well, u tried. If it were me i'd just go for it, just dont be TOO harsh :-)

tell her that it's sometimes hard to be her friend and that you're willing to fix the problem if she is. Then make sure you BOTH work towards fixing it.
