Depends on jurisdiction. In Canada, the age for consensual sex is 14 - as long as the older person is in no way associated with the younger (like a teacher, coach etc) - but anal sex is not included (which sex of the partners does not matter) - but, amazingly, vaginal sex is! Go figure!

FINALLY not anymore.
Frightening as it might sound, it was illegal until recently in some states in America.
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that sodomy laws are unconstitutional on June 26, 2003.

I'm not actually too sure on this one, although I think it goes back to:
1) Prudish Victorian standards that saw 'proper' sex as only being vaginal.
2) Trying to curb homosexuality.
3) I have no idea.
A lot of anti-sodomy laws are being taken off the books finally, but they still exist in some places, although completely unenforced.

It is only illegal in some jurisdictions. It is also known as Sodomy. Funny thing, the word also includes oral sex too.

Well, i didnt know if it was illegal or legal, but if it's illegal, it's because when you stick "foreign objects" up your anal, you have a pretty good chance that you'll pop some blood vessels...and if blood vessels pop, then i dont think you can poop any more..and if you dont poop, then all those nasty poisons and such in your waste will make you pretty sick..and it could cause death...(but i'm just basing that on the fact that you can pop blood vessels, but i'm pretty sure thats accurate..ha the things you learn in 8th grade health class these days...)

it is legal in some countries.. in the USA, the legal age for anal sex is usally higher than the legal age for vaginal sex.. also, the legal age of consent is higher for males than females in most states, talk about double standards!
why? because the government reps who make the laws are probably hetro sexual and/or religious and use these influences to make laws..

It used to be, but those laws were all declared unconstitutional in 200....something. It was a lot more recently than most people realize.

No idea, but do it if you want. Pretty much anything except missionary is illegal in most places, and people aren't getting arrested for it! What you do in the privacy of your own home is your business, and yours alone.
